Hi all,
The First Annual Wine Challenge was grand success! Thanks to everyone that came by to pick up some wines and help out Linda’s girls. This Christmas will be a lot better for them because of you. And thanks to Linda for setting the whole thing up. Everybody had fun and there were lots of door prizes won.
I’ll be doing the wine class this Friday, October 12th. We’re doing some new wines that we haven’t had at a tasting before but the theme is “Wines from states that have an ‘A’ as the second letter of their abbreviation”. There will be a white blend from WA, a Pinot Noir from Santa Barbara, a pair of Zins from Lodi and Paso, a meritage and a Cab from CA.
The presentation will start promptly at 6:00 PM. Remember this “ain’t LA” (thank goodness) so don’t be late. The wine class costs $10 per person and all the featured wines are 10% off. For the money you get to try the wines during the wine class and compliment them with the best food in the valley at any wine tasting. We have been having larger than expected crowds again so we are limiting attendance to 45 guests.
We are going to try something different this Wednesday, the 10th of October, starting at 6:30. We are going to do a flight of La Crema Appellation Series Pinot Noirs (Russian River, Carneros and Anderson Valley). These are three of the nicest Pinots you will ever taste and they are priced about $30 per bottle. Oh, the tasting is free, too.
Chef Jimmy of Scott’s Place is going to be preparing and presenting the food on the 19th of October to go with the wines from Orangewood that Gary is going to show. Mark your calendars as I think we’ll be tasting the Frank Family Cab.
And Bryne is going to play on Saturday, the 20th. This is going to be the last free music evening.
We’ve started carrying Sole Mineral waters, both the still and the sparkling. And if you haven’t been in lately, we have a HDTV up in the corner and it will be tuned into the NFL game on Sundays. And we’re watching the baseball playoffs too. Come by for a glass and cheer a bit for your team.
Keep smiling,
Liza and Bob
