Hi all,

WINE TASTING – We’re doing PART II of the “Taste of the NFL” this week at the Friday Wine Class, October 9th. If you remember that is where 2½ meals are served at the St Mary’s Food Bank for each bottle of the featured wines that are purchased. This week we are featuring the Sun Chardonnay, the Frei Brothers Sonoma Chardonnay, the Sun Pinot Noir, the Whitehaven Pinot Noir, the Louis M Martini Napa Cabernet and the Frei Brothers Cabernet Sauvignon. And you can help out those less fortunate through the Super Bowl as we will continue to have these featured wines.

The presentation Friday will start promptly at 6:00 PM. Remember this “ain’t LA” (thank goodness) so don’t be late. The wine class costs $10 per person and all the featured wines are 10% off. For the money you get to try the wines during the wine class (usually six) and compliment them with the best food at any wine class in the state. Even though it hasn’t been an issue lately we are limiting attendance to the first 45 people.

WINE DINNER – We haven’t had a wine dinner in a long time but the wait is over. On Saturday, October 24th starting at 6:30 PM Chef Stuart Epstein will prepare a four course dinner and cooking demo. The menu is Prosciutto Wrapped Scampi, Fresh Pasta Primavera, Panko Crusted Grilled Chicken Medallions and Tiramisu. The first three courses will be pared with some excellent, yet to be determined because I’m lazy, wines. Reserve your place for $50.

MUSIC – Rootdown is back! Plan on being at the shop to listen to the guys play some great jazz on November 21st. That is a Saturday. Hope to see you then.

Sax man Bryne Donaldson pulled out the stops last night! It was a great musical night. And he’ll be back on the first Saturday in November, the 7th.

THANKS – Jeff from Awesome Wines did an excellent presentation at last Friday’s wine class. Thanks to him and thanks to you that came by.

OTHER – There is a local guy that takes our empty wine bottles and turns them into recycled wine bottle glasses. They look great, are now dishwasher safe and help the environment. We have them for sale in sets of four, with or without our logo, for $20.

We have always given a discount of 10% if you buy a case (12 bottles) of wine. Now you get the discount when you buy only 6 bottles.

You may have noticed that we have some wines on sale up at the front of the shop. These are excellent wines that are the older vintage or one that we can’t get more of or such. And you can save a few bucks off our already great prices. Of course the selection is always changing.

We have WiFi available in the shop if you’d like to use it. Just ask for the password.

Have fun,
Liza and Bob
