Hi all,
Whew! It was quite the week. Thanks to everyone that participated in the events that went on and our condolences to those of you that missed some of them. It was fun.
Jason from Alliance Beverage will be doing the presentation at the wine class this week. The golfer, Nick Faldo, has a wonderful Sauvignon Blanc that we will start with. So much for the whites! We’ll then try the great value Concannon Pinot Noir, a zinfandel from Temptation, a shiraz/cabernet blend from Wakefield, the BR Cohn Cabernet Sauvignon and finish with the ever popular Bogle Phantom.
The presentation will start promptly at 6:00 PM. Remember this “ain’t LA” (thank goodness) so don’t be late. The wine class costs $10 per person and all the featured wines are 10% off. For the money you get to try the wines during the wine class and compliment them with the best food in the valley at any wine tasting. Great news! Chef Jimmy of Scott’s Place has agreed to prepare the food at one wine class a month. That will give Liza a break and you can taste some of his wonderful fare on a regular basis. We have been having larger than expected crowds again so we are limiting attendance to 45 guests.
The La Crema Pinot Noir from Anderson Valley that was the clear winner at the tasting a little over a week ago is now in stock. New too are three wines from Oak Creek Vineyards and Winery. We have the Chardonnay (which is real clean and flavorful), the Petite Verdot (very big and very good) and the Zin port (done in a less alcohol and less residual sugar style). We’ve started carrying Sole Mineral waters, both the still and the sparkling. And if you haven’t been in lately, we have a HDTV up in the corner and it will be tuned into the NFL game on Sundays. And we’re watching the baseball playoffs too. Come by for a glass and cheer a bit for your team.
Keep smiling,
Liza and Bob
