Hi all,
Tomorrow is the big day! We are having The First Annual Wine Challenge on Sunday, September 30th. We will donate one dollar for each of the first 100 bottles purchased between 3 & 5 PM to the Santa’s Secret Shopper (that is where Linda makes Christmas for some young mothers). The first 20 people to purchase a bottle will get a lovely wine gift bag from Lisa T’s Party Shop. Divine Wines is helping out too. And there will be door prizes and pizza from Oscars. You can still get 10% off if you buy a case. Get a jump on your holiday wine shopping and help out some needy kids.
Scott Greenwold from Southern Wine and Spirits is going to do the presentations again this week on Friday, Oct 5th. We’ll start with a Fume Blanc from Murphy Goode, then follow that with three wines from a new winery called Christine Andrew. We’ll do the Viognier, the Zin and the Petite Sirah. For a grand finale we’ll try a pair of cabs. The first is from Geyser Peak and then a BIG BOY from Atlas Peak. It should be fun!
The presentation will start promptly at 6:00 PM. Remember this “ain’t LA” (thank goodness) so don’t be late. The wine class costs $10 per person and all the featured wines are 10% off. For the money you get to try the wines during the wine class and compliment them with the best food in the valley at any wine tasting (Chef Jimmy is coming back on Oct 19th). We have been having larger than expected crowds again so we are limiting attendance to 45 guests.
We are going to try something different on Wednesday, the 10th of October, starting at 6:30. We are going to do a flight of La Crema Appellation Series Pinot Noirs (Russian River, Carneros and Anderson Valley). These are three of the nicest Pinots you will ever taste and they are priced about $30 per bottle. Oh, the tasting is free, too.
We’ve started carrying Sole Mineral waters, both the still and the sparkling. And if you haven’t been in lately, we have a HDTV up in the corner and it will be tuned into the NFL game on Sundays. Come by for a glass and cheer a bit for your team.
Keep smiling,
Liza and Bob
