Hi all,
Chef Jimmy of Scott’s Place is going to be preparing and presenting the food this Friday the 19th of October to go with the wines from Orangewood Distributing that Gary is going to show. We’ll be tasting the Chatom Sauvignon Blanc, the Con Brio Pinot Grigio, the Frank Family Chard, the Chatom Zinfandel, the Boeger Tempranillo and then the Frank Family Cab. This will be one to remember!
The presentation will start promptly at 6:00 PM. Remember this “ain’t LA” (thank goodness) so don’t be late. The wine class costs $10 per person and all the featured wines are 10% off. For the money you get to try the wines during the wine class and compliment them with the best food in the valley at any wine tasting. We have been having larger than expected crowds again so we are limiting attendance to 45 guests.
Liza T’s Discount Shoppe is having their First Birthday Party on Wednesday the 17th from 6 to 8 PM. If you haven’t seen her place stop in, look around and enjoy a wine tasting courtesy of Cave Creek Wines. Bryne will be playing with Jay Soto and Entree’s Made Easy will be sampling from their menu.
Not only were the wines great at the La Crema Pinot Noir tasting last Wednesday but it was fun too! We found a new one to bring into the shop. Their Anderson Valley Pinot Noir was the clear winner.
Local artist and friend Craig Driml is unveiling his latest piece of art on Tuesday October 16th at 7:00 PM. This particular piece is going to be entered in a wine label contest. Please come and enjoy a free glass of champagne and see the unveiling from the “Crayon Artist”. Tuesdays have turned into a sort of “pot luck” so feel free to bring in an appetizer or some cheese to share.
And Bryne is going to play here on Saturday, the 20th. This is going to be the last free music evening. We’ll be charging a cover on subsequent events.
New this week is three wines from Oak Creek Vineyards and Winery. We have the Chardonnay (which is real clean and flavorful), the Petite Verdot (very big and very good) and the Zin port (done in a less alcohol and less residual sugar style). We’ve started carrying Sole Mineral waters, both the still and the sparkling. And if you haven’t been in lately, we have a HDTV up in the corner and it will be tuned into the NFL game on Sundays. And we’re watching the baseball playoffs too. Come by for a glass and cheer a bit for your team.
Keep smiling,
Liza and Bob
