Hi all,
WINE TASTING – This time of year everyone starts to think about what wine to serve with Turkey. Should it be a Gewürztraminer or what? Or we could taste some really great wines at some really great prices? One guess which we chose! This Friday, November 13th, we’ll start with the Kali Hart Chard, then try the Row Eleven Pinot Noir, then the Gunslinger Shiraz from Binder Mitchell, the Kuleto Zin before concluding with the Stratton Loomis Cab.
The presentation Friday will start promptly at 6:00 PM. Remember this “ain’t LA” (thank goodness) so don’t be late. The wine class costs $10 per person and all the featured wines are 10% off. For the money you get to try the wines during the wine class (usually six) and compliment them with the best food at any wine class in the state. We are limiting attendance to the first 45 people.
MUSIC – Rootdown is coming back on December 5th. That is the first Saturday in December so it keeps the routine going. Sax man Bryne Donaldson will be back on the second Saturday in January, the 9th. We hope to see you at both performances.
THANKS – The Bryne for another wonderful show and thanks to everyone that came by.
THINGS TO DO – On November 22 in the Phoenix Historic Railroad Park at the Farm on South Mountain, there is going to be the Arizona Wine Growers Festival. For more info go to http://www.azwinefestivalatthefarm.com/ .
OTHER – We’re going to continue to continue to participate in the program called Taste of the NFL through the end of the year (maybe through the Super Bowl). Come and pick up one or more of the featured wines and you can help out too. 2-1/2 meals will be served at St Mary’s Food Bank for each bottle sold.
There is a local guy that takes our empty wine bottles and turns them into recycled wine bottle glasses. They look great, are now dishwasher safe and help the environment. We have them for sale in sets of four, with or without our logo, for $20.
We have always given a discount of 10% if you buy a case (12 bottles) of wine. Now you get the discount when you buy only 6 bottles.
Help us save a tree! We have wine bags for sale at $2.50 that will hold up to 6 bottles of wine. When you use it for two bottles or more we will give you a 25¢ discount.
You may have noticed that we have some wines on sale up at the front of the shop. These are excellent wines that are the older vintage or one that we can’t get more of or such. And you can save a few bucks off our already great prices. Of course the selection is always changing.
We have WiFi available in the shop if you’d like to use it. Just ask for the password.
Have fun,
Liza and Bob
