Hi all,
WINE TASTING – The wine class this Friday, May 8th, is going to be a trip to Spain. The wines look like this: Poema Cava Extra Dry, Torres Vina Esmeralda, Torres Sanger de Toro, Rioja Vega Joven, Panarroz and Torres Salmos Priorat. The last wine may be the best European wine you have ever tasted. And Ron Feczko from Republic National is going to be the presenter.
The presentation Friday will start promptly at 6:00 PM. Remember this “ain’t LA” (thank goodness) so don’t be late. The wine class costs $10 per person and all the featured wines are 10% off. For the money you get to try the wines during the wine class and compliment them with the best food at any wine class in the state. We haven’t had any seating problems lately but we are limiting attendance to the first 45 people.
MUSIC – Bryne Donaldson and his sax rocked the house last night. Thanks to him for playing and to all of you that supported him. His next gig here will be Saturday, June 6th. The music will start at 7 PM. We hope to see you then.
THANKS – Every time I do a wine class Liza is worried that no one will show up. Thanks to everyone that proved her wrong. We do appreciate the support.
WINE TRIP – It is time to know if you are interested in going to Lodi with us. It looks like my guess of a few weeks ago of $920 is going to be accurate after all. We are accepting deposits of $500 by check or cash and will need them by the 22nd of May. Remember from last year the credit card company thought we were travel agents instead of a wine bar so we can’t use credit cards. The dates are August 14th thru 17th. The list of wineries is coming but for now we will be in Lodi on the Friday, Saturday and Monday with Amador on Sunday. Let me know if there are any wineries that you are familiar with so I can include them.
OTHER – Linda is starting to raise money for her Santa’s Secret Shoppers where she helps some kids at a local shelter at Christmas. We’ll be having a blind tasting and watch the movie Bottle Shock at 6:30 PM on May 28th. The cost is only $10 and Action Wines is helping out with the wines. Movies munchies and a raffle are included.
Justin Winery in Paso Robles makes some really great wines like the Isosceles. And they make a very affordable blend called the Orphan. We just got our allocation in for this year. Two whole cases.
The not so new now issue of Arizona Vines & Wines is out and it is full of information about the vineyards and the wineries throughout Arizona. It is better than ever and available for free by the checkout area.
There is an Arizona Wine Club. Visit www.azvinowineclub.com to join. You can get three Arizona wines shipped to you or you can pick them up at our shop three times a year.
We have always given a discount of 10% if you buy a case (12 bottles) of wine. Now you get the discount when you buy only 6 bottles.
You may have noticed that we have some wines on sale up at the front of the shop. These are excellent wines that are the older vintage or one that we can’t get more of or such. And you can save a few bucks off our already great prices.
We have WiFi available in the shop if you’d like to use it. Just ask for the password.
Have fun,
Liza and Bob
