Hi all,

We’re going to “brown bag” it this Friday. That’s right on the 23rd Scott will conduct a blind tasting. I can’t tell which wines we will be tasting because that would give it away but this should be fun. He did a blind tasting a few months back and it was very well received so we’ll try it again. He will talk to us about what the flavors and smells mean to lead us to guess which wines we are tasting.

The presentation will start promptly at 6:00 PM. Remember this “ain’t LA” (thank goodness) so don’t be late. The wine class cost $10 per person and all the featured wines are 10% off. For the money you get to try a half a dozen wines during the wine class and compliment them with the best food in the valley at any wine tasting.

Bryne had them “dancing in the aisles” on Thursday. He was great and we’re looking at having him back.

There are a couple of lockers available if you are looking for a place to store those extra bottles.

The planning for the wine trip is progressing. In the middle of August we are going to do a four day trip to Paso Robles. The dates look like Aug 10 thru 13th. I’ve talked with Norman, Peachy Canyon, Robert Hall and Tobin James for starters. And we’ve heard from J. Lohr and Wild Coyote that they would like to host us too. The plan will be to fly out on a Friday morning, visit 8 or 10 wineries (or more) and come back on Monday. Norman Winery has committed to a lunch and Wild coyote to a barrel tasting. No idea on the price but it will include airfare, the bus, the hotel and the VIP winery tours. Let me know if you are interested.

Keep smiling,

Liza and Bob
