Hi all,

You can teach “old dogs” new tricks! I honestly had no idea of the range of flavors that could be made from a single grape. Toby, from Quail distributing, did a great job of picking different Pinot Noirs from around the country and around the world that demonstrated the wide variety that of tastes that can come from a single varietal.

Thanks to Jimmy of Scott’s Place for pairing the foods to the wines. The veggie lasagna was awesome! He always does a great job and we love having him. And thank you all for coming too.

For you non-Catholics, on March 21st, Good Friday, Ron from Republic National will be in the shop to sample some of his wines. No jokes, just a chance to try some good wines. There is not going to be a real wine class so there isn’t going to be a cover charge and there won’t be the usually great food. This is the kind of tasting you may have attended elsewhere. It is referred to as a “walk thru” tasting meaning that Ron will have some wines to sample and talk about but not a class like we usually do.

And we are going to have a Sweet Sixteen party on Wednesday, March 26th. Obviously its not a birthday party but 16 tastes for $20. Craig Driml from Divine Wines will be doing the honors.

Inner Journeys (Bob Ravenscroft on the piano and Dwight Kilian on the standup bass) attracted quite the crowd on Saturday. They were a pleasure to listen to. Plans are that we are going to have them in on the third Saturday of every month.

And Rootdown, as a quartet, is going to be in the shop performing at 6 PM on Thursday, April 3rd. They haven’t been in for awhile so we are looking forward to hearing them again. Of course there is no cover or no minimum drink, just come down and listen and enjoy.

We have WiFi available in the shop if you’d like to use it. Just ask for the password.

We have a great new publication about the Arizona wineries. It has a lot of information and is beautifully done. Look for it by the cash register next time you check out.

Have fun,
Liza and Bob
