Hi all,
HAPPY FATHER’S DAY to all you dads and dads to be!
WINE TASTING – Ron Feczko will be doing a California Wine class this Friday, June 20th. We’ll start with our favorite Pinot Grigio from MonteVino and then do a bunch of Steele wines including their Chard, a Merlot, a Barbera and the Pacini Zin. The big boy at the end will be a blend called Rutherford Ranch Rhiannon. Enjoy some great wines at reasonable prices.
The presentation Friday will start promptly at 6:00 PM. Remember this “ain’t LA” (thank goodness) so don’t be late. The wine class costs $10 per person and all the featured wines are 10% off. For the money you get to try the wines during the wine class and compliment them with the best food at any wine class in the state. We are limiting the class size to 45.
WINE PAIRING – This Saturday, June 21st, at 6 PM Chef Jimmy of Scott’s Place and we are putting together a Private Wine Tasting for the first 40 people to RSVP. For $20 you will get 5 dishes that have been selected to be complimented by 5 wines. Come by and leave a deposit before Friday. It should be a good time!
FUNDRAISER – Priscilla Copeland is putting on a “Sip and Shop” at our shop on Sunday, June 22nd from 2 PM to 4 PM. She will have a beautiful line of Sterling Silver Jewelry for sale and 100% of the proceeds will go to Habitat for Humanity. Please come by, have a glass of wine and some free appetizers while you get something pretty for yourself and help out a worthy organization.
SPECIAL – Starting this Wednesday, June 18th, at 10:45 AM we are hosting a Neighborhood Weight Loss Challenge. This will be a 12 week class on nutrition and weight loss. The cost is $29 that will be “won” by the three biggest “losers”. The class will meet once a week at the wine shop. It should be fun and friendly.
MUSIC – Another great night of jazz is coming! Bob Ravenscroft and Dwight Kilian, Inner Journeys, will play on the 28th at 6 PM until 8:30 PM. No cover and no minimum. Just come in and listen to some really talented musicians. Bryne Donaldson’s next gig will be on the 12th of July rather than the usual first Saturday of the month (because of the 4th).
If you haven’t been in lately we have moved, kicking and screaming, into the 21st century. After months of promises we finally purchased an I-pod and Eugene has programmed it with countless hours of great jazz with a few “Easter Eggs” thrown in for good measure. So we’re not listening to the radio any more!
THANKS – Bob Piotrowski did a “marvelous” job (said in the style of Billy Crystal for you that can remember that far back) on his wine class presentation last Friday night. Chef Jimmy’s food paired very well with the bubbles and the Vinho Verde. It was a good night. And Bryne was great on his sax on Saturday. Thanks to all of them and thanks to you too!
WINE TRIP – The 3rd Annual Cave Creek Wines Wine Trip is full!
OTHER – We have WiFi available in the shop if you’d like to use it. Just ask for the password.
We have a new edition of the publication called Arizona Vines and Wines. It has a lot of information and is beautifully done. Look for it by the cash register next time you check out.
Have fun,
Liza and Bob
