Hi all,
WINE TASTING – The next wine class will be this Friday, July 10th, when Ron Feczko of Republic National tells us about the Napa Cellars wines. These are great Napa Valley wines that include a Sauvignon Blanc, a Chardonnay, a Pinot Noir, a Zin (the real, red kind), a Merlot and a big Cab.
The presentation Friday will start promptly at 6:00 PM. Remember this “ain’t LA” (thank goodness) so don’t be late. The wine class costs $10 per person and all the featured wines are 10% off. For the money you get to try the wines during the wine class and compliment them with the best food at any wine class in the state. We are limiting attendance to the first 45 people.
MUSIC – Bryne Donaldson and his sax(es) will be in the shop from 7 PM to 9:30 PM this Saturday, July 11th. We hope to see you then. It looks like he will be playing with Jay Soto in the beginning of October so there may be more schedule changes coming.
BARREL TASTING – Canelo Hills, down in Elgin, is having a barrel tasting on July 18th and then another on August 8th. Each day the tasting is from 5:00 to 7:00 PM and you’ll get to try 5 different wines (yes they’re all reds) for $25. That includes a discussion about the wines with winemaker Tim, a tour of the winery and light snacks. Reserve your spot by calling (520) 455-5499 or emailing info@canelohillswinery.com.
GOLD – We’re not going to be holding the event this Wednesday but we will reschedule something in the fall.
OTHER – The newest edition of Arizona Vine & Wines. And yours truly penned the article starting on page 8. There is actually a lot of very well written and very interesting stuff to be found inside. We have few copies available by the cash register.
There is a local guy that takes our empty wine bottles and turns them into recycled wine bottle glasses. They look great, are now dishwasher safe and help the environment. We have them for sale in sets of four, with or without our logo, for $20.
There is an Arizona Wine Club. Visit www.azvinowineclub.com to join. You can get three Arizona wines shipped to you or you can pick them up at our shop three times a year.
We have always given a discount of 10% if you buy a case (12 bottles) of wine. Now you get the discount when you buy only 6 bottles.
You may have noticed that we have some wines on sale up at the front of the shop. These are excellent wines that are the older vintage or one that we can’t get more of or such. And you can save a few bucks off our already great prices. Of course the selection is always changing.
We have WiFi available in the shop if you’d like to use it. Just ask for the password.
Have fun,
Liza and Bob
