Hi all,
WINE TASTING – It’s me again! We have a bunch of new wines from several new wineries that are distributed by some small distributors that we want you to try. So this Friday, July 31st, I’m going to tell you about Beckman’s Sauvignon Blanc and Stephen’s Chardonnay for the whites. A couple of years ago we visited Stephen’s, CC’s favorite, as part of our wine trip and tasted his wines that were proudly displayed on a long plank.
Then we are going to try anam cara Cellars Willamette Pinot Noir, a BIG Merlot from an Australian winery called Paiko, a BIG Barossa Shiraz from Mt Billy and a Napa Zinfandel (the red kind) from Ballentine. Should be fun but there won’t be any wine keys given away.
The presentation Friday will start promptly at 6:00 PM. Remember this “ain’t LA” (thank goodness) so don’t be late. The wine class costs $10 per person and all the featured wines are 10% off. For the money you get to try the wines during the wine class and compliment them with the best food at any wine class in the state. We are limiting attendance to the first 45 people.
MUSIC – Bryne Donaldson and his saxes will be in the shop next from 7 PM to 9:30 PM on Saturday, August 1st. That is less than a week away. Plan to come and listen to some great music and have a good time.
THANKS – Kelly did a get job at the wine class so thanks to her and Kurt. And thanks to all of you that showed up. Our apologies to those that didn’t get in. Come early.
OTHER – We some coupons that will get you into the Home & Garden Show for a buck. It is happening August 7, 8 & 9 at the University of Phoenix.
Half of our big sign in front has gone out. Does anyone know someone that can work on signs like that?
The newest edition of Arizona Vine & Wines is available. And yours truly penned the article starting on page 8. There is actually a lot of very well written and very interesting stuff to be found inside. We have few copies available by the cash register.
We have wine shipping boxes. Most have Styrofoam inside a cardboard box that surrounds each bottle. They come in 2, 4 and 12 bottle sizes. And they are FREE!
There is a local guy that takes our empty wine bottles and turns them into recycled wine bottle glasses. They look great, are now dishwasher safe and help the environment. We have them for sale in sets of four, with or without our logo, for $20.
There is an Arizona Wine Club. Visit www.azvinowineclub.com to join. You can get three Arizona wines shipped to you or you can pick them up at our shop three times a year.
We have always given a discount of 10% if you buy a case (12 bottles) of wine. Now you get the discount when you buy only 6 bottles.
You may have noticed that we have some wines on sale up at the front of the shop. These are excellent wines that are the older vintage or one that we can’t get more of or such. And you can save a few bucks off our already great prices. Of course the selection is always changing.
We have WiFi available in the shop if you’d like to use it. Just ask for the password.
Have fun,
Liza and Bob
