Hi all,

For you that don’t know, our hours are Tuesday thru Saturday from noon to 9 PM and 2 PM to 7 PM on Sunday.

WINE TASTING – Mona Riedel from Southern Wines will present the wine class this Friday, July 17th. The line up starts with a Cava from Spain (of course) called Codornui Pinot Noir Brut. Then we’ll taste the Firestone Riesling, the Firestone SB, a Sebastiani Chard, then finish up with the Sebastiani Pinot Noir and Cab. It is going to be a great summer tasting!

The presentation Friday will start promptly at 6:00 PM. Remember this “ain’t LA” (thank goodness) so don’t be late. The wine class costs $10 per person and all the featured wines are 10% off. For the money you get to try the wines during the wine class and compliment them with the best food at any wine class in the state. We are limiting attendance to the first 45 people.

MUSIC – Bryne Donaldson was special last night! He and his saxes will be in the shop next from 7 PM to 9:30 PM on Saturday, August 1st. Mark your calendars.

THANKS – We certainly appreciated everyone showing up to listen to Ron at the wine class on Friday and to Bryne on Saturday.

BARREL TASTING – Canelo Hills, down in Elgin, is having a barrel tasting on July 18th and then another on August 8th. Each day the tasting is from 5:00 to 7:00 PM and you’ll get to try 5 different wines (yes they’re all reds) for $25. That includes a discussion about the wines with winemaker Tim, a tour of the winery and light snacks. Reserve your spot by calling (520) 455-5499 or emailing them at info@canelohillswinery.com.

OTHER – The newest edition of Arizona Vine & Wines. And yours truly penned the article starting on page 8. There is actually a lot of very well written and very interesting stuff to be found inside. We have few copies available by the cash register.

We have wine shipping boxes. Most have Styrofoam inside a cardboard box that surrounds each bottle. They come in 2, 4 and 12 bottle sizes. And they are FREE!

There is a local guy that takes our empty wine bottles and turns them into recycled wine bottle glasses. They look great, are now dishwasher safe and help the environment. We have them for sale in sets of four, with or without our logo, for $20.

There is an Arizona Wine Club. Visit www.azvinowineclub.com to join. You can get three Arizona wines shipped to you or you can pick them up at our shop three times a year.

We have always given a discount of 10% if you buy a case (12 bottles) of wine. Now you get the discount when you buy only 6 bottles.

You may have noticed that we have some wines on sale up at the front of the shop. These are excellent wines that are the older vintage or one that we can’t get more of or such. And you can save a few bucks off our already great prices. Of course the selection is always changing.

We have WiFi available in the shop if you’d like to use it. Just ask for the password.

Have fun,
Liza and Bob
