Hi all,

WINE TASTING – The wine class this Friday, February 6th, will be presented by Ron from Republic National. The theme is Northwest Wines. We taste Cloudline Pinot Gris and Jezebel Blanc from Oregon. Then we’ll try Hougue Genesis Merlot, Goose Ridge Red, Novelty Hill Cabernet and Goose Ridge Syrah from Washington.

The presentation Friday will start promptly at 6:00 PM. Remember this “ain’t LA” (thank goodness) so don’t be late. The wine class costs $10 per person and all the featured wines are 10% off. After a week’s hiatus we’re reinstating the 45 person limit. For the money you get to try the wines during the wine class and compliment them with the best food at any wine class in the state.

Remember that if you want to reserve yourself a place in the class you can do so by purchasing a ticket for $20 any time during the week.

MUSIC – On Saturday, February 7th, Bryon Donaldson and his sax will be here to play some great jazz. Remember that we have live music on the first and third Saturday of each month. Mark your calendars! We have changed the music start times on those Saturdays to 7 PM so they can play to 9:30.

THANKS – It was a blast to see Kent Callaghan of Callaghan Vineyards, Todd Bostock from Dos Cabezas WineWorks, Chris Hamilton from Rancho Rossa and Kathryn Mueller of Canelo Hills Winery here last Friday. Thanks to them and thanks to all of you that showed up.

NEW WINES – We have a few bottles of the Rancho Rossa Shadow in stock. That was the last wine we tasted on Friday and we loved it!

We’re also now stocking the Canelo Hills wines, the Chardonnay with the “kiss of oak”, the light but beautiful Sangiovese and the great Syrah.

OTHER – There is a local guy that takes our empty wine bottles and turns them into recycled wine bottle glasses. They look great, are now dishwasher safe and help the environment. We have them for sale in sets of four, with or without our logo, for $20.

There is an Arizona Wine Club. Visit www.azvinowineclub.com to join. You can get three Arizona wines shipped to you or you can pick them up at our shop three times a year.

There is going to be a wine maker’s dinner at Skye on February 12th. Chef Scott Tompkins is doing the food and Kenneth Schilling is doing the wines. It is $120 a couple and starts at 6:30. We have a flyer with the details.

We have always given a discount of 10% if you buy a case (12 bottles) of wine. Now you get the discount when you buy only 6 bottles.

You may have noticed that we have some wines on sale up at the front of the shop. These are excellent wines that are the older vintage or one that we can’t get more of or such. And you can save a few bucks off our already great prices.

We have WiFi available in the shop if you’d like to use it. Just ask for the password.

There are a couple of wine lockers available for rent by the month ($7) or by the year ($84).

Have fun,
Liza and Bob
