Hi all,
WINE TASTING – Arizona Night! This Friday, February 19th, we are going to be pouring Arizona wines and we will have some of the wine makers in the shop. We’ll be pouring wines from Callaghan, Canello Hills, Dos Cabezas, Lightning Ridge and Rancho Rossa. Lightning Ridge is a new winery and we haven’t even tasted their wines yet. It should be fun! And don’t be late.
The presentation Friday will start promptly at 6:00 PM. Remember this “ain’t LA” (thank goodness) so don’t be late. The wine class costs $10 per person and all the featured wines are 10% off. For the money you get to try the wines during the wine class (usually six) and complement them with the best food at any wine class in the state. We are NOT limiting attendance to the first 45 people. Everyone gets in.
Lena will have a new shipment of Rieslings to show us on March 26th. She was in Germany for most of January tasting the new vintages. The best are now on a boat headed this way. Mark your calendars and plan to show up early as she always draws a full house.
CHARRON VINEYARDS – Leo Cox has sold his vineyard and the new owners are going to continue his traditions and to add some of their own.
MUSIC – Bryne Donaldson will be back on the first Saturday of March, the 6th. We hope to see you then. Remember there are no cover and no minimum drink purchase.
THANKS – Thanks to Mona for the excellent class on Friday and to Kelly for the tasting us on the Medusa wines on Saturday. And of course a great big “Thanks” to everyone that attended those events and for supporting Linda’s Santa’s Secret Shoppers on Movie Night.
OTHER – There is a new pizza place in the same center where we are located. It is called Rochelli’s and they make a great thin crust pizza with lots of fresh ingredient. And they make their own dough, sausage and onion rings. They’re open from 11 AM to 9 PM with good service. Try them out some time. I can recommend the sausage!
We have the newest issue (Winter 2009) of Arizona Vines and Wines. There is lots of great information about the state’s wineries and is free!
We have always given a discount of 10% if you buy a case (12 bottles) of wine. Now you get the discount when you buy only 6 bottles.
You may have noticed that we have some wines on sale up at the front of the shop. These are excellent wines that are the older vintage or one that we can’t get more of or such. And you can save a few bucks off our already great prices. Of course the selection is always changing.
We have WiFi available in the shop if you’d like to use it. Just ask for the password.
Have fun,
Liza and Bob
