Hi all,
WINE TASTING – Mona from Southern Wines graciously agreed to do the wine class on Friday, August 7th. We haven’t decided on the wines yet, hopefully tomorrow. So we’ll call this a “Surprise” tasting.
The presentation Friday will start promptly at 6:00 PM. Remember this “ain’t LA” (thank goodness) so don’t be late. The wine class costs $10 per person and all the featured wines are 10% off. For the money you get to try the wines during the wine class (usually six) and compliment them with the best food at any wine class in the state. We are limiting attendance to the first 45 people.
Mark your calendars for August 19th, a Wednesday, when a rep from Tolosa is going to be in the shop. We’ll have a little tasting featuring their unoaked Chardonnay, their oaked Chardonnay, their Pinot Noir and their Cab.
Then toward the end of the month Laura Zahtila of Zahtila Wines will be in town. We don’t have a firm date but she’ll be in town from the 25th thru the 27th. We’ll be doing something with her and her wines one of those days.
MUSIC – Bryne Donaldson ended his birthday month last night with another great gig. He and his saxes will be in the shop next from 7 PM to 9:30 PM on Saturday, September 5th. Plan to come and listen to some great music and have a good time.
THANKS – Thanks to all of you that showed up to the wine class last Friday. And thanks to our handsome presenter. I just love having him in the shop! And again, our apologies to those that didn’t get in. Come early.
OTHER – Phyllis Miller is hosting a Ladies Night Out called Women & Wine on Thursday, August 13th. It is a jewelry party with all kinds of great prizes. Make your reservation with her at 623 582-6928.
We have some coupons that will get you into the Home & Garden Show for a buck. It is happening August 7, 8 & 9 at the University of Phoenix.
We have wine shipping boxes. Most have Styrofoam that surrounds each bottle inside of a cardboard box. They come in 2, 4 and 12 bottle sizes. And they are FREE!
There is a local guy that takes our empty wine bottles and turns them into recycled wine bottle glasses. They look great, are now dishwasher safe and help the environment. We have them for sale in sets of four, with or without our logo, for $20.
We have always given a discount of 10% if you buy a case (12 bottles) of wine. Now you get the discount when you buy only 6 bottles.
You may have noticed that we have some wines on sale up at the front of the shop. These are excellent wines that are the older vintage or one that we can’t get more of or such. And you can save a few bucks off our already great prices. Of course the selection is always changing.
We have WiFi available in the shop if you’d like to use it. Just ask for the password.
Have fun,
Liza and Bob
