Hi all,

I feel that Psychic Night is coming on the 24th of March. Come in for some fun and help Linda raise some money for Santa’s Secret Shoppers.

WINE TASTING – We’re having another “Wine Challenge”! This Friday, March 12th, the combatants will be Kelly from Alliance Beverage, Jeff from Valley of the Sun Fine Wines and Ron from Republic National. Each will present a Zin (of the red variety) and a Cab (of the Sauvignon variety). The Zins will be from Monkey Business, Joel Gott and Rodney Strong while the Cabs will be from Piattelli, Amavi and Rodney Strong again.

The presentation Friday will start promptly at 6:00 PM. Remember this “ain’t LA” (thank goodness) so don’t be late. The wine class costs $10 per person and all the featured wines are 10% off. For the money you get to try the wines during the wine class (usually six) and complement them with the best food at any wine class in the state. We are limiting attendance to the first 45 people.

Just two weeks until Lena shows us her new shipment of Rieslings. She was in Germany for most of January tasting the new vintages and the best are now on a boat headed this way. Mark your calendars for March 26th and plan to show up early as she always draws a full house.

MUSIC – Bryne Donaldson was great! He had a busy day playing at El Pedregal twice and then here. He can really do wonders with his saxophone.

On the 17th of April Root Down is back. As a quartet their jazzy style is always a crowd pleaser. We hope to see you then. Remember there are no cover and no minimum drink purchase.

NEW WINES – We have the Duckhorn Napa Valley Merlot, for which they are famous, more than a “Fistful of Dollars” less than our neighborhood big box store. Speaking of values, we also have an Italian Sangiovese, the grape in Chianti, that is great at $13.99 and a California Claret, a Cabernet based blend, at $12.99.

THANKS – We certainly appreciated Mark Hilbert presenting the wines last Friday and thanks to all of you that attended the class. And thanks to everyone that came in to listen to Bryne too.

COMING SOON – Things are starting clear up in my crystal ball and I see a Psychic Night coming soon. It will be on a Wednesday, the 24th of March. Is that Jamie Clark from TV’s “America’s Psychic Challenge” I see? More info will be available when the fog lifts some more.

Kief-Joshua Vineyards is having a festival down in Sonoita on May 1 & 2. We have a few complimentary tickets. Let us know if you are interested in attending.

OTHER – We have the brand new Spring 2010 issue of Arizona Vines and Wines. There is lots of great information about the state’s wineries and tours. And it is free!

We have always given a discount of 10% if you buy a case (12 bottles) of wine. Now you get the discount when you buy only 6 bottles.

You may have noticed that we have some wines on sale up at the front of the shop. These are excellent wines that are the older vintage or one that we can’t get more of or such. And you can save a few bucks off our already great prices. Of course the selection is always changing.

We have WiFi available in the shop if you’d like to use it. Just ask for the password.

Have fun,
Liza and Bob
