Hi all,

WINE TASTING – Kelly’s back! This Friday, July 30th, we’ll compare and contrast California and Australian wines. New world against new world. Kelly McDowell from Alliance Beverage will present Gloria Ferrar Pinot Noir vs McWilliams Pinot Noir, Clayhouse Cabernet vs Penfolds Cabernet and Robert Hall Syrah vs Ad Lib Shiraz. Yes Matilda, they are all reds.

The presentation Friday will start promptly at 6:00 PM. Remember this “ain’t LA” (thank goodness) so don’t be late. The wine class costs $10 per person and all the featured wines are 10% off. For the money you get to try the wines during the wine class (usually six) and complement them with the best food at any wine class in the state. Even in these times we are limiting attendance to the first 45 people.

Sonoita Vineyards is having Harvestfest on July 31 and August 1, a Saturday and a Sunday. Of course they’ll taste the latest releases and pair them with some fine food. They plan winery tours with the winemaker and vineyard tours in a horse drawn wagon. We have a few tickets if you would like to go down and have some fun.

Please reserve this Saturday, July 31st, for a free tasting of the New Mexico wines (and maybe a couple of others). You’ll be able to order the ones you like for pickup on the 4th of August. It should start about 6 PM.

MUSIC – Bryne Donaldson and his sax will be back on the first Saturday in August, the 7th, at 7 PM. Remember there is no cover and no minimum. Hope to see you then. Please visit his web site at http://www.brynedonaldson.com/index.htm

THANKS – Paul from Young’s Market Company gave a great toast that I plan to steal. Thanks to him for a great presentation and thanks to all of you that showed up.

OTHER – We have a few free tickets with parking for the Home & Garden Show at the University of Phoenix Stadium on August 6, 7 & 8. That is what some folks call the Cardinals Stadium. The tickets are by the cash register.

We have one wine storage locker available to rent by the month or by the year.

We have always given a discount of 10% if you buy a case (12 bottles) of wine. Now you get the discount when you buy only 6 bottles.

You may have noticed that we have some wines on sale up at the front of the shop. These are excellent wines that are the older vintage or one that we can’t get more of or such. And you can save a few bucks off our already great prices. Of course the selection is always changing.

We have WiFi available in the shop if you’d like to use it. Just ask for the password.

Have fun,
Liza and Bob
