Jason Benedict of Alliance Beverage is going to do the presentation this Friday, November 17th. We are going to taste some of the wines from Beringer and Chateau St Jean. From the former we will try the Chardonnay, the Merlot and the Clearlake Zinfandel. From the latter we will try the Fume Blanc, the Pinot Noir and the Cabernet Sauvignon. For those that went on the Napa Trip back in July you will remember that Beringer was the best. We will have a special price on the 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon from Beringer that got 92 points from Wine Spectator. But alas we won’t be trying it during the tasting.

There will not be a presentation on the day after Thanksgiving, November 24, but we will be open so you can stop in and have a glass of wine during your busy day. Hope to see you then if not sooner. We will be closed on Thanksgiving Day so pick your wines up early.

Thanks again to Lena from 4inWines for telling us about the Rieslings last week. Judging from the crowd and the sales there were a lot of really nice wines and Lena does a great job of telling us about the regions of Germany where they come from and about the wineries.

Lena got a very positive response to her idea of doing a “High End Riesling” tasting. To include the very best, a Trockenbeerenaulese, the cost will be $70/ person. Each of the five wines are the very best! Let me know if you want to participate during the second week of December. We will pick an exact date later.
Let me know if you are interested in doing a Riedel Tasting too. We are looking at December 6th at 6 PM. The cost will be $99/ person and you get to keep the four glasses. All the wines we try will be relatively high end to really show what the glasses can do.

Rootdown was spectacular! They had the folks dancing in the aisles before
they were done. Their web site is www.rootdown-az.com. I’ll let you know when they will be here again.
