Hi all,
WINE TASTING – The wine class this Friday, May 1st, is going to have a special presenter – me! Okay, the presenter won’t be so special but the wines will be. We’re going to try a line up of 6 red Zins. For you that love the citrus of a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc or the creaminess of a Chardonnay are going to be disappointed. But for those of you that love a spicy, luscious red wine are going to be in luck. The wines will be some new ones you may not have tried and some old standbys you probably have. In no particular order… Plungerhead, Mettler, OZV, Klinkerbrick, LeBaron and Steele.
The presentation Friday will start promptly at 6:00 PM. Remember this “ain’t LA” (thank goodness) so don’t be late. The wine class costs $10 per person and all the featured wines are 10% off. For the money you get to try the wines during the wine class and compliment them with the best food at any wine class in the state. We haven’t had any seating problems lately but we are limiting attendance to the first 45 people.
MUSIC – Bryne Donaldson and his sax will be here this Saturday, May 2nd, to play some for us. The music will start at 7 PM. We hope to see you then.
THANKS – Scott’s “last” presentation may not have been but he was as entertaining as ever. And next month Mona will step up to the plate. Thanks to both of them for tasting us on the organic/sustainable wines from Parducci and Paul Dolan. Yes, they can be excellent wines and earth friendly too. And thanks to every one that came by too.
And a special thank you to Ron from Republic National for the free tasting of some great wines last Saturday.
WINE TRIP – It is time to know if you are interested in going to Lodi with us. I got a big shock on the airfare last week so I still don’t have a dollar amount and I don’t need a deposit but I do need to know if you are interested. The dates are August 14th thru 17th.
OTHER – We have some VIP admission tickets for 2 to the Home & Landscape Show on May 1, 2 & 3 at the Arizona State Fairgrounds. You can save $10 and skip the line at the ticket booth.
The not so new now issue of Arizona Vines & Wines is out and it is full of information about the vineyards and the wineries throughout Arizona. It is better than ever and available for free by the checkout area.
There is an Arizona Wine Club. Visit www.azvinowineclub.com to join. You can get three Arizona wines shipped to you or you can pick them up at our shop three times a year.
We have always given a discount of 10% if you buy a case (12 bottles) of wine. Now you get the discount when you buy only 6 bottles.
You may have noticed that we have some wines on sale up at the front of the shop. These are excellent wines that are the older vintage or one that we can’t get more of or such. And you can save a few bucks off our already great prices.
We have WiFi available in the shop if you’d like to use it. Just ask for the password.
Have fun,
Liza and Bob

Hi all,
WINE TASTING – This Friday, April 24th, is going to be Scott’s last presentation. He is moving on to bigger things within his company, Southern Wine and Spirits, so he is turning things over to Mona Riedel. With sustainable production being so important in the grape growing and wine making business these days they are going to show us that responsible can taste great! As is not too unusual I’ve misplaced the list of the particular wines but rest assured they’ll be fantastic.
We are limiting attendance to the first 45 people.
Ron Feczko from Republic National wants to do a free wine tasting at 6 PM on Saturday, April 25th. We’re featuring a line up that will include some of the “Wild Oak” wines; the Chard, the Merlot, the Zin and the Cab. And then we’ll round it out with the Chalk Hill Sauvignon Blanc and the Sequoia Grove Cabernet Sauvignon. This is change to try some great wines and preorder for pickup the next week.
MUSIC – Bryne Donaldson and his sax will be here on Saturday, May 2nd, to play some great jazz. The music will start at 7 PM. Mark your calendars.
THANKS – Something happened and over 50 folks got to try the Pillsbury wines last Friday. All Arizona grapes and all incredible! Thanks to everyone that attended and a special thanks to Sam for making such great wines.
WINE TRIP – We are going to Lodi on August 14 thru 17. Lodi is best known for some great ancient vine Zins but have a bunch of other great wines at reasonable prices too. I still don’t have the end price for the trip which will include airfare, hotel, transportation, breakfasts and lunches but it looks like this will be the most affordable trip yet. Now that I’ve gotten some more prices my new guess is around $920. We’ll be flying out early in the morning on Friday, the 14th, and returning late in the day on Monday, the 17th. There’s a concert on Saturday night with a still unannounced artist and lots of great wines to taste along the way. Please let me know if you are interested so we can make some plans. We’re not looking for a deposit yet, just an interest.
OTHER – Last chance to reserve yourself a spot at Heather’s Fine Wines and Facials on Wednesday, April 22nd at 6 PM. How about a complimentary facial and makeover? It costs you $10 for the tasting and you get a $10 Mary Kay gift certificate. Call her at 602 677-9535.
