Hi all,
I know! Better late than never. Or is it better never late? Whatever, here it is.
WINE TASTING – I’m going to do the wine class this Friday (Feb 27). We’ve gotten in a bunch of new wines that we want you to try starting with a Premier Cru FRENCH Chardonnay from Chassagne-Montrichet. Then we’ll try the Meiomi Belle Glos Pinot Noir, the Poderi Elia Barbera D’Alba, the Eliseo Silva Merlot from Washington, Mr Black’s Concoction (a Shiraz) and then finish with the Brown Brothers Patricia Cabernet.
The presentation Friday will start promptly at 6:00 PM. Remember this “ain’t LA” (thank goodness) so don’t be late. The wine class costs $10 per person and all the featured wines are 10% off. For the money you get to try the wines during the wine class and compliment them with the best food at any wine class in the state. We are limiting the class size to 45.
Remember that if you want to reserve yourself a place in the class you can do so by purchasing a ticket for $20 any time during the week.
MUSIC – On Saturday, March 7th, Bryne Donaldson and his sax will be here to play some great jazz. The music starts at 7 PM so they can play to 9:30.
THANKS – Thanks to the (almost) full house that showed up on Friday to listen to Ryan from Alliance Beverage for the Chile (and a little Argentina) wine class. And thanks to him too!
NEW WINES – We have a few nice vintage ports (10 and 20 years old) from Portugal.
OTHER – Tom Garrett has set up a couple of “Wine Cruises” for us. These are 12 night and 11 night cruises at the end of September and the beginning of October for around $1,000. We have a brochure by the cash register with the details.
There is a local guy that takes our empty wine bottles and turns them into recycled wine bottle glasses. They look great, are now dishwasher safe and help the environment. We have them for sale in sets of four, with or without our logo, for $20.
There is an Arizona Wine Club. Visit www.azvinowineclub.com to join. You can get three Arizona wines shipped to you or you can pick them up at our shop three times a year.
We have always given a discount of 10% if you buy a case (12 bottles) of wine. Now you get the discount when you buy only 6 bottles.
You may have noticed that we have some wines on sale up at the front of the shop. These are excellent wines that are the older vintage or one that we can’t get more of or such. And you can save a few bucks off our already great prices.
We have WiFi available in the shop if you’d like to use it. Just ask for the password.
There are a couple of wine lockers available for rent by the month ($7) or by the year ($84).
Have fun,
Liza and Bob

Hi all,
Lots of information this week so please read it all.
WINE TASTING – Ryan from Alliance Beverage is going to do the tasting this Friday, February 20th. I think he is a presentation virgin so be nice. We are going to taste some great wines from Chile! Casillero Sauvignon Blanc, Xplorador Chardonnay, Terento Syrah, Casillero Carmenere, Xplorador Merlot and Marques Cabernet Sauvignon make up the list.
Free tasting on Tuesday, February 17th, from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. Bill Bishop from Steele Wines in Lake County, California will be in the shop to tell about their Aligote, Merlot, Zin and Cab Franc. It is going to be what is referred to as a “flow thru” tasting rather than the real “wine class” style we do on Fridays. And someone present will win a magnum of Steele Wine.
MUSIC – On Saturday, February 21st, Bob Ravenscroft on the piano and Warren Jones (substituting for Dwight Kilian) on the stand up bass will be here to play some great jazz. Remember that we have live music on the first and third Saturday of each month. Mark your calendars! We have changed the music start times on those Saturdays to 7 PM so they can play to 9:30.
THANKS – Thanks to the (almost) full house that showed up on Friday to listen to Lena tell us about the wines from Argentina. And thanks to her too!
NEW WINES – We have a few bottles of the Rancho Rossa Shadow (as in Port Wine) in stock. That was the last wine we tasted when the Arizona wine makers were here. And we have a few nice vintage ports (10 and 20 years old) from Portugal too.
OTHER – Tom Garrett has set up a couple of “Wine Cruises” for us. These are 12 night and 11 night cruises at the end of September and the beginning of October for around $1,000. We have a brochure by the cash register with the details.

Hi all,
WINE TASTING – Lena Reichmann-Langelaar, the German Riesling lady, isn’t going to show us her great Rieslings this Friday, February 13th. That show will have to wait for Good Friday in April. This Friday she is going to show us what is happening in Argentina. Of course they make some excellent Malbecs but there is more. And we will get to see the whole story on Friday.
The presentation Friday will start promptly at 6:00 PM. Remember this “ain’t LA” (thank goodness) so don’t be late. The wine class costs $10 per person and all the featured wines are 10% off. Remember that we have live music on the first and third Saturday of each month. Mark your calendars! We have changed the music start times on those Saturdays to 7 PM so they can play to 9:30.
THANKS – We had a great night of jazz on Saturday and we want to thank Bryne for playing and thank all of you that showed up. And thanks to the full house that showed up on Friday to listen to Ron tell us about the wines from Oregon and Washington. Both nights were fun!
NEW WINES – We have a few bottles of the Rancho Rossa Shadow in stock. That was the last wine we tasted on when the Arizona wine makers were here.
We’re also now stocking the Canelo Hills wines, the Chardonnay with the “kiss of oak”, the light but beautiful Sangiovese and the great Syrah.
OTHER – There is a local guy that takes our empty wine bottles and turns them into recycled wine bottle glasses. They look great, are now dishwasher safe and help the environment. We have them for sale in sets of four, with or without our logo, for $20.
