Hi all,

Don’t be like Ann and only read the first few lines of our newsletter. You will miss the Super Bowl Party and some great new wines.

WINE TASTING – Arizona wine makers’ night is going to be this Friday, January 30th! Chris Hamilton from Rancho Rossa Vineyards in Elgin is going to pour their ’06 Chard and ’05 Cab. His neighbor, Kent Callaghan of Callaghan Vineyards, is going to taste us on his ’07 Lisa’s and ’06 Buena Suerte. Kathryn Mueller is going to pour the Canelo Hills Vineyard and Winery ’07 Chard, ’07 Sangiovese and their ’07 Estate Syrah. Todd Bostock of Dos Cabezas WineWorks is going to sample us on his ’06 El Norte and the ’07 R.R.

The presentation Friday will start promptly at 6:00 PM. Remember this “ain’t LA” (thank goodness) so don’t be late. The wine class costs $10 per person and all the featured wines are 10% off. For the money you get to try the wines during the wine class and compliment them with the best food at any wine class in the state. Everybody gets in this week! No 45 person limit.

MUSIC – On Saturday, February 7th Bryne Donaldson will be here to play some great jazz. Remember that we have live music on the first and third Saturday of each month. Mark your calendars! We have changed the music start times on those Saturdays to 7 PM so they can play to 9:30.

THANKS – We appreciate everyone that showed up on Friday to hear Julia tell us about those excellent wines from Quail Distributing.

OTHER – There is an Arizona Wine Club. Visit www.azvinowineclub.com to join. You can get three Arizona wines shipped to you or you can pick them up at our shop three times a year.

There is a local guy that takes our empty wine bottles and turns them into recycled wine bottle glasses. They look great, are now dishwasher safe and help the environment. We have them for sale in sets of four, with or without our logo, for $20.

We had so much fun at the NFC Championship game that we are going to try it again for the Super Bowl. The party will run from 3:30 PM on Sunday, February 1st. Pot luck with the food items from a store (got to keep the Health Department happy).

There is going to be a wine maker’s dinner at Skye on February 12th. Chef Scott Tompkins is doing the food and Kenneth Schilling is doing the wines. It is $120 a couple and starts at 6:30. We have a flyer with the details.

We have always given a discount of 10% if you buy a case (12 bottles) of wine. Now you get the discount when you buy only 6 bottles.

You may have noticed that we have some wines on sale up at the front of the shop. These are excellent wines that are the older vintage or one that we can’t get more of or such. And you can save a few bucks off our already great prices.

We have WiFi available in the shop if you’d like to use it. Just ask for the password.

There are a couple of wine lockers available for rent by the month ($7) or by the year ($84).

NEW WINES – We just started carrying a couple of great Cabs at reasonable prices. One is the Walking Tree Cabernet from Geyser Peak and is part of their Block Collection. It sells for $19.99. The other is from the Russian River in Sonoma and is produced by STG. It sells for $16.99.

Have fun,
Liza and Bob
