Hi all,
Peter Franus, the winemaker at Peter Franus Wines, will be here March 8th! So there won’t be a wine class on Friday the 7th. For $15 we will taste through most of his lineup and try some of the food of Chef Craig Anthony of the Edge of Taste. His wines are amazing and to be paired with such fine food is going to be great! You can visit Peter’s web site at www.franuswine.com and Craig’s at www.theedgeoftaste.com.
On this Friday, Feb 29th, Craig Driml of Divine Wines is going to have some help from Liz of Country Vintners (www.countryvintner.com) to present some great Australian wines. The wines are Kilda Chardonnay, Red Bucket Cab/Shiraz, Loose Ends GSM, Yakka Shiraz (a single vineyard), West Cape Howe Cab and finish with MSM Sparkling Wine (Black Bubbles). It should be fun!
The presentation Friday will start promptly at 6:00 PM. Remember this “ain’t LA” (thank goodness) so don’t be late. The Friday wine classes costs $10 per person and all the featured wines are 10% off. For the money you get to try the wines during the wine class and compliment them with the best food at any wine class in the state.
Thanks to everyone who came by last Friday for Carol’s presentation. Of course the Napa Valley wines were great. And we had plenty of room for more folks.
We are going to have the jazz duo Inner Journeys play on the third Saturday of each month. Mark your calendars for March 15th.
Heather is going to help us with another Fine Wines and Facials on Wednesday, Feb 27th. To quote from her flyer, “pamper your palette with fine wines and pamper your skin with a facial & microdermabrasion skin treatment!” It is only $10 for the wines and the facial. Make a reservation by calling her at 602 677-9535.
We have WiFi available in the shop if you’d like to use it. Just ask for the password.
Have fun,
Liza and Bob

We will taste through most of his lineup and everything will be available for sale. You can visit his web site at www.franuswine.com. His wines are amazing! And Chef Craig Anthony of the Edge of Taste is going to cater the affair. His food is as amazing.
On this Friday, Feb 22nd, Carol Howard from Valley of the Sun Wines will present wines from the Napa Valley APA. My recollection is that we will start with a Chenin Blanc from Chapellet then move into the reds which will include a Merlot from Atalon, a Zin from Titus, a Primitivo/Zin from Elyse, a Cab Franc from Titus and Blend from Chapellet. I hope I did better at this list than I did last week.
The presentation Friday will start promptly at 6:00 PM. Remember this “ain’t LA” (thank goodness) so don’t be late. The wine class costs $10 per person and all the featured wines are 10% off. Thanks to everyone who came by last Friday for Scott’s presentation. He is a lot of fun. My apologies to those that didn’t get in. And thanks for listening to Inner Journeys on Saturday. They played a style of jazz that is rooted in history and great to listen to. We are going to have them in on the third Saturday of every month. We are limiting attendance to 45 guests so please don’t show up a minute or two before 6:00 PM and expect to get in.

Rootdown can’t make the date to play here on Thursday, February 28th, so we are looking at a date in March. We’ll let you know as soon as we get something picked that will work for everyone.
We have WiFi available in the shop if you’d like to use it. Just ask for the password.
We have a great new publication about the Arizona wineries. It has a lot of information and is beautifully done. Look for it by the cash register next time you check out.
Have fun,

On this Friday, Feb 15th, Scott Greenwold of Southern Wine and Spirits will present the York Cuvee One and the Justin Cabernet Sauvignon. He and I weren’t able to figure out the balance of the wines but they are always good and Scott does a fun presentation.
We’ve got a new Jazz group called “Inner Journeys” to play on Saturday, February 16th starting at 6 PM. It is a duo featuring Bob Ravenscroft on the piano and Dwight Kilian on Bass. Both are accomplished musicians with multiple albums.

Thanks to everyone who came by last week for Ron’s presentation. He certainly made up for his bad penguin joke. We are limiting attendance to 45 guests. Please don’t show up a minute or two before 6:00 PM and expect to get in.

Hi all,
On this Friday, Feb 8th, Ron Fescko of Republic National is going to show us some of the fine wines from the Crescendo Winery. They’re a Napa winery that makes a Pinot Noir, a Zin, a blend and a cab. The cab was great! To round things out we will try the King’s Ridge Pinot Noir from Oregon as a comparison and finish off with the Penfold’s Tawny Port. And he promised not to mention “penguins”.
We’ve got a new Jazz group called “Inner Journeys” to play on Saturday, February 16th starting at 6 PM. It is a duo featuring Bob Ravenscroft on the piano and Dwight Kilian on bass. Both are accomplished musicians with multiple albums. And while I’m at it, Rootdown, your favorite improvisational jazz quartet, will play here on Thursday, February 28 th, starting at 6 PM. Hope you can make both dates!

Thanks to everyone who came by last week. August Kesseler was a great guy and his wines were superb. We expect the shipment to be here in mid March. Craig Driml’s presentation of the Graziano wines was fun and the wines popular. We are limiting attendance to 45 guests at our wine classes. Please don’t show up a minute or two before 6:00 PM and expect to get in.
