Hi all,
Tomorrow is the big day! We are having The First Annual Wine Challenge on Sunday, September 30th. We will donate one dollar for each of the first 100 bottles purchased between 3 & 5 PM to the Santa’s Secret Shopper (that is where Linda makes Christmas for some young mothers). The first 20 people to purchase a bottle will get a lovely wine gift bag from Lisa T’s Party Shop. Divine Wines is helping out too. And there will be door prizes and pizza from Oscars. You can still get 10% off if you buy a case. Get a jump on your holiday wine shopping and help out some needy kids.
Scott Greenwold from Southern Wine and Spirits is going to do the presentations again this week on Friday, Oct 5th. We’ll start with a Fume Blanc from Murphy Goode, then follow that with three wines from a new winery called Christine Andrew. We’ll do the Viognier, the Zin and the Petite Sirah. For a grand finale we’ll try a pair of cabs. The first is from Geyser Peak and then a BIG BOY from Atlas Peak. It should be fun!
The presentation will start promptly at 6:00 PM. Remember this “ain’t LA” (thank goodness) so don’t be late. The wine class costs $10 per person and all the featured wines are 10% off. For the money you get to try the wines during the wine class and compliment them with the best food in the valley at any wine tasting (Chef Jimmy is coming back on Oct 19th). We have been having larger than expected crowds again so we are limiting attendance to 45 guests.
We are going to try something different on Wednesday, the 10th of October, starting at 6:30. We are going to do a flight of La Crema Appellation Series Pinot Noirs (Russian River, Carneros and Anderson Valley). These are three of the nicest Pinots you will ever taste and they are priced about $30 per bottle. Oh, the tasting is free, too.
We’ve started carrying Sole Mineral waters, both the still and the sparkling. And if you haven’t been in lately, we have a HDTV up in the corner and it will be tuned into the NFL game on Sundays. Come by for a glass and cheer a bit for your team.
Keep smiling,
Liza and Bob

Hi all,
Well, I’ve done it again. Scott Greenwold from Southern Wine and Spirits is going to do the presentations the next two weeks. That is Friday, Sep 28th, and then again on Friday, Oct 5th. He has some ideas about what we are going to taste but I won’t know for sure until tomorrow. Rest assured that the wines will be as good as always and he will be as entertaining as always. Hope you can make it.

Please take notice if you didn’t catch this last couple of weeks. We are going to present The First Annual Wine Challenge on Sunday the 30th of September. We will donate one dollar for each of the first 100 bottles purchased between 3 & 5 PM to the Santa’s Secret Shopper (that is where Linda makes Christmas for some young mothers). I hear that someone has come forward and will donate $2 per bottle for the second 100 bottles. The first 20 people to purchase a bottle will get a lovely wine gift bag from Lisa T’s Party Shop. Divine Wines is helping out too. And there will be door prizes and pizza from Oscars. You can still get 10% off if you buy a case. Just a reminder that we have Leo Cox’s White Merlot from Charron Vineyards in stock.

Hi all,
Boy (yes, Boy) Brainerd is the National Wine Pimp (I’m not making this stuff up) for the Twisted Oak Winery and he is going to be here this Friday, September 21st. You can leave your attitude at home. This is going to be fun! They are from Calaveras County, California and generally make wines from Spanish varietals. Liza and I tasted the wines a month or so ago and loved them all. The best were the Verdelho, the Viognier, the Grenache (I suspect it is really a Garnacha), the Tempranillo, the Murgatroyd (as in “Heavens to …) and the *%@#$ Red.
The presentation will start promptly at 6:00 PM. Remember this “ain’t LA” (thank goodness) so don’t be late. The wine class costs $10 per person and all the featured wines are 10% off. Hi all,
This coming Friday, September 14th, yours truly will be recreating our recent trip to Paso Robles for those of you that want to enjoy it again and for those of you that couldn’t make it. All the wines will be from wineries we visited or were at the Winemakers Cookoff. The plan is to taste the Midnight Cellars Sauvignon Blanc, the Robert Hall Viognier, the Vina Robles Syrah, the Norman Monster Zin, The Peachy Canyon Westside Zin and finish with the J Lohr 7 Oaks Cabernet.
The presentation will start promptly at 6:00 PM. Remember this “ain’t LA” (thank goodness) so don’t be late. The wine class costs $10 per person and all the featured wines are 10% off. For the money you get to try the wines during the wine class and compliment them with the best food in the valley at any wine tasting. Even though we had a nice crowd, both in size and in manners, and numbers weren’t a problem, I am going to say this anyway, we have been having larger than expected crowds lately so we are limiting attendance to 45 guests.
Please take notice if you didn’t catch this last week. We are going to present The First Annual Sunday Wine Challenge on Sunday the 30th of September. We will donate one dollar for each of the first 100 bottles purchased between 3 & 5 PM to the Santa’s Secret Shopper. I hear that someone has come forward and will donate $2 per bottle for the second 100 bottles. The first 20 people to purchase a bottle will get a lovely wine gift bag from Lisa T’s Party Shop.
