Hi all,

No class on the 31st because everyone will be out of town for the long weekend (except Liza and I who will be at the shop during regular hours). But mark your calendars for September 7th. We have been tasting wines, making a list and then redoing it a couple of times for a great lineup of Spanish wines. And it is still in a little limbo. Kevin from Divine Wines is going to be the presenter and the wines are wonderful.

Thanks to Tony from Billington Wines for letting us taste some of his wines.

We’ve gotten a lot of pictures from the trip to Paso and I’ll be getting Rick to have a link or something on the web site so you can see them soon. It was a lot of fun and we tried some really good wines.

Keep smiling,
Liza and Bob

Hi all,

Tony from Billington Wines is going to be in this Friday, August 24th, to present some of his wines. While the class is going to have a South American theme, there are going to be a couple of wines from California, a really nice Sauvignon Blanc and an affordable Syrah. From Chile there is a chardonnay and a big cab while from Argentina we’ll try a Merlot and another Syrah. Great wines at nice prices. No class on the 31st.

The presentation will start promptly at 6:00 PM. Remember this “ain’t LA” (thank goodness) so don’t be late. The wine class costs $10 per person and all the featured wines are 10% off. For the money you get to try the wines during the wine class and compliment them with the best food in the valley at any wine tasting.

We have been having larger than expected crowds lately so we are limiting attendance to 45 guests. We had more than that show up on last Friday so please don’t wait for the last minute. I got some good jokes in response to my request last week. You’ll enjoy them over the next few weeks.

Thanks to Jason and Tom from Alliance beverage for the class last Friday on Glen Carlou and Peter Lehmann wines. They were really good.

And thanks to everyone that came to hear Bryne Donaldson do his magic with a saxophone. He was great and we managed to raise some money for one of Linda’s charities.

One of our favorite customers and friend is raising money to go on the Arizona Breast Cancer 3 Day Walk in November. We are trying to help out by collecting donations for her. For a $20 donation we will give you a “Save the Boobies, Save the World” t-shirt. You can see the shirt hanging up in our shop.

We’ve gotten a lot of pictures from the trip to Paso and I’ll be getting Rick to have a link or something on the web site so you can see them soon. It was a lot of fun and we tried some really good wines.

Keep smiling,

Liza and Bob

Hi all,

Sorry for the late email this week but we just got back from our wine trip to Paso. CC did a wonderful job and a good time was had by all. More later.

We will have a wine class this Friday, the 17th, and then again on the 24th. Jason from Alliance Beverage is going to take us to the Southern Hemisphere on the 17th and then Tony from Billington will show us a great bunch of wines from his portfolio on the 24th.

Liza will be preparing the food.

Bryne Donaldson and his saxophone will be here on the 18th, that’s a Saturday, at 6 PM for a couple of sets. Please come early and be ready for some great music and some fun.

Have fun,
Liza & Bob

Hi all,

No wine class this Friday, August 10th, as a bunch of us will be in Paso Robles doing a little wine trip. We’ll be thinking about you. Oh, maybe not. But Liza will be here holding down the fort so please stop in to keep her company.

We will have a wine class on both the 17th and the 24th so mark your calendars. Jason from Alliance Beverage is going to take us to the Southern Hemisphere on the 17th and then Tony from Billington will show us a great bunch of wines from his portfolio on the 24th.

Thanks to Ron from Republic National for letting us try the MonteVina and Trinchero wines this past Friday. And thanks for all the give aways! It was a lot of fun and most everyone won a computer game or a cork screw or a shirt or something. And there were some empty seats for a change so don’t let the numbers scare you.

Root Down was the best! They played on Thursday to a really full house and everyone really had a good time. We certainly like having them come in and it seems like you really enjoyed yourselves so we will be trying to get them back as soon as we can. And remember that Bryne Donaldson and his saxophone will be here on the 18th, that’s a Saturday, at 6 PM for a couple of sets. Please come early and be ready for some great music and some fun.

Keep smiling,

Liza and Bob

Hi all,

Is it August already? Ron from Republic National Distributing Company is going to show us the wines from MonteVino and Trinchero this Friday, August 3rd. From MonteVino we’ll do the Pinot Grigio and the Zin. Then from Trinchero we’ll do the Chardonnay, Merlot and Cab. And there is a sixth wine I forgot. Sorry. But the toilet is fixed!

Entrees Made Easy is going to cater the wine class again. There business is just around the corner and they make dinner a lot easier by getting the entree ready.

We have been having larger than expected crowds lately so we are limiting attendance to 45 guests. We had more than that show up on last Friday so please don’t wait for the last minute. I got some good jokes in response to my request last week. You’ll enjoy them over the next few weeks.

Thanks to Danielle from Diamondback Wines for showing us their wines and to Jimmy from “Scott’s Place” for pairing them with some wonderful food.

DON’T FORGET! Root Down is back on Thursday, August 2nd at 6 PM. They will be playing a couple of sets so show up early. And then Bryne Donaldson, the saxophonist, will play on the 18th at 6 PM. You’ll get two chances this month to hear some great music and enjoy some good wine. Hope to see you here.
