Hi all,
Well, I did it again. The short, bald guy is going to do the wine class on Friday, May 4th. I haven’t decided on the wines but we’ve gotten a few new ones that seem to have been very well received so we’ll include them.
The presentation will start promptly at 6:00 PM. Remember this “ain’t LA” (thank goodness) so don’t be late. The wine class cost $10 per person and all the featured wines are 10% off. For the money you get to try the wines during the wine class and compliment them with the best food in the valley at any wine tasting.
Thanks to everyone that came by last Friday to listen to Troy. I had never heard of an Aligote before and now I know I like it. As did a bunch of other folks. And the Pinot Blanc was great too. And thanks to Troy for doing a wonderful job.
There are a couple of wine lockers available if you need to store some of your overflow. Under the bed only works for so long. They rent for $7/month and if you rent for a year you get your name on the plaque on the door.
There is still room for you that want to go to Paso Robles with us in August. For $1060 you get round trip airfare, ground transportation, hotel accommodations (double occupancy) for three nights (August 10, 11 & 12), wine tasting and touring, full breakfasts each day and lunches on Saturday and Sunday. We will need a deposit of $300 soon with the balance due by June 15th. I think there is one space left.
Keep smiling,
Liza and Bob

Hi all,
On Friday, April 27th, Troy from Republic Beverage is going to present the Steele Wines. Liza and I tasted through them a couple of weeks ago and they were wonderful. There is a complete line of reds and whites so everyone should be happy.
The presentation will start promptly at 6:00 PM. Remember this “ain’t LA” (thank goodness) so don’t be late. The wine class cost $10 per person and all the featured wines are 10% off. Thanks to everyone that came by last Friday to listen to Craig and myself. There were many people that told me it was the most fun they had had at a wine event ever. And a special thanks to Craig for being so professional and for making it so much fun!

Hi all,
On Friday, April 20th, somebody is going to present some wines and rest assured they’ll be good. There was a lack of communication between Scott at Southern Wines and myself. I thought he was doing the class and he thought he was going on vacation. So he is trying to get the local rep from Kunde to taste us on their wines but he won’t know until Monday or Tuesday if he is available. If not we’ll get a short, bald guy to fill in.
The presentation will start promptly at 6:00 PM. Remember this “ain’t LA” (thank goodness) so don’t be late. The wine class cost $10 per person and all the featured wines are 10% off. Thanks to everyone that came by last Friday to listen to Jason and Tom. If we get a “keeper” out of the selection at a wine class I think it was good. It looks like we have three or four out of that group. Good wines!

Hi all,
We are closed on Easter Sunday.
On Friday, April 13, Jason Benedict is going to present a full range of Kenwood wines, starting with the Sauvignon Blanc. A couple of years ago this was the first SB to score more than 90 in Wine Spectator’s ratings. Then we will try the Chardonnay, a Pinot Noir, a Merlot, a Zinfandel and finish with the Cab. All them are excellent and it should be fun.

Thanks to everyone that came by last Friday to listen to Ken Schilling. His art was beautiful and matched the wines wonderfully. And he has some connections to wineries in Paso so he is going to try and set some things up there too.
And last Saturday we raised a bunch of money for Cystic Fibrosis at their wine tasting event. Thanks to everyone that came by and contributed. It was really wonderful to see.

There is still room for you that want to go to Paso Robles with us in August.
We will fly from Sky Harbor to San Louis Obispo at 10 AM on Friday, August 10th. We get picked up by two 14 passenger vans and taken to Peachy Canyon Winery. We’ll do another winery or two that afternoon before being dropped off at the Paso Robles Inn. Dinner is on your own but there are many restaurants in the downtown area. On Saturday we will tour and sample on the East Side at Tobin James, J Lohr and another winery or two that are yet to be determined. Lunch will be at one of the wineries. We’ll get back to the hotel after 5 PM.
On that Saturday evening, August 11th, there is a Winemaker Cook-off where 20 wineries are serving gourmet food right off the BBQ paired with their wines. It is $75 per person. The van(s) will take us there if there are enough that want to participate.
On Sunday we tour and sample on the West Side at Wild Coyote where we do a barrel tasting, Norman Vineyards where we will do lunch, Villacana, Justin and then finish off at the Willow Creek Olive Ranch where we will do an olive oil tasting. On Monday, August 13th, it is breakfast and back to Phoenix.
For $1060 you get round trip airfare, ground transportation, hotel accommodations (double occupancy) for three nights (August 10, 11 & 12), wine tasting and touring, full breakfasts each day and lunches on Saturday and Sunday. We will need a deposit of $300 by April 15th with the balance due by June 15th. Let us know.

Hi all,
This week the presentation is going to be done by the artist, Ken Schilling, for Sorrel Canyon and Huntington Wine Cellars. We are going to try the wines from Sorrel Canyon. They have a Sauvignon Blanc, a Chard, a Zin (of course of the red variety), a Cabernet Sauvignon and a blend called 3 Vines. Besides being a Phoenix resident, he is a partner in the winery and will be available to sign bottles after the class. Should be fun!
Thanks to everyone that came by last Friday to listen to me. Liza thought there would only be two or three of you brave souls so the crowd was a pleasant surprise.
